V Club members ring in the New Year with over a quarter-million dollars

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - January 6, 2009 - Six San Diego residents had a lot to celebrate on New Year’s Day. Viejas Casino gave away $255,000 in cash on January 1 as part of their Countdown to 2009 promotion. Now all these lucky players are counting is their winnings!
The grand prize winner, Rosemary O. of San Marcos, won $100,000 in cash. Rosemary, who has been playing at Viejas Casino for over 15 years, was shocked to be called as the grand prize winner. "I didn’t think I was ever going to win," she said just after her name was called at 3p.m. on New Year’s Day.
Other winners include: $50,000 winners Mark G. of La Jolla and George N. of Merced, and $10,000 winners Daniel T. of Bay Park and Allen M. and Algis J., both of Alpine. Twenty-five additional winners won $1,000 each.
"$250,000 is only the beginning," said Viejas Casino Marketing Director Rikki Tanenbaum. "Viejas is giving away $1 million in cash and prizes in February and we will continue to give away huge cash prizes throughout 2009!" These guests became eligible to win simply by joining the V Club and playing their favorite slots. With their winnings, their plans varied from helping their parents, paying bills, putting some in savings and having fun.
