Viejas Begins Phased Reopening

The Viejas Tribe is starting the process of re-opening Viejas Casino & Resort on Monday, May 18th at 8:00am. Enhanced safety measures will be in place including physical distancing, intense cleaning and sanitization practices, mandatory face coverings for both Guests and Team Members as well as temporal / symptom monitoring for entry and patronage.

In addition to these cleaning efforts, Viejas has also recently invested in new cutting edge UV germicidal technology that will be utilized to clean and sanitize the property every day.  This investment is a scaled approach that will eventually protect you passively, providing medical-grade, hospital clean conditions not matched anywhere else.

What's Open and What to Expect During Your Visit

Viejas Guests can expect to see some changes throughout the resort to protect the health of all Guests and Team Members.  Below are some questions you may have prior to visiting:

What are you doing to prevent the spread of COVID-19?

Efforts include but are not limited to:

  • Masks will be required for all Guests and Team Members on the property. Customers should be prepared to provide their own mask, as a limited supply will be available to customers.
  • No one under the age of 21 will be allowed in the casino, restaurants or hotel.
  • In addition to routine cleaning, the property has implemented enhanced cleaning procedures including increasing the frequency of disinfecting restrooms to every hour, sanitizing gaming machines multiple times during shifts, as well as sanitizing door handles, doors, courtesy phones, tables, chairs, handrails, and other high touch and high traffic areas multiple times a day.
  • The property currently has hand-sanitization stations for employee and guest use. They are located at each entry, food venue and throughout the resort.
  • Upon entry to the resort each Guest and Team Member will be subject to a scan for symptoms and a contactless temporal scan.  Those exhibiting a fever or symptoms will be asked to return at a later date when symptoms are clear.
  • Guests can expect markings on the floors in front of cage cashiers, myViejas Rewards Club, hotel front desks, kiosks, ATMs, V Store, and Promotional service areas.
  • All dining venues will have reduced seating capacity to maintain social distancing guidelines.
  • Bar seating will not be accessible to ensure safe practices.
  • Face shields and safety barriers will be placed in close contact areas.

How will my club status be affected?

We have adjusted the qualification period for tier levels to accommodate the closure time period.  Your points, select offers and status will remain in place.  For more info visit: https://viejas.com/myviejas/

How will the casino floor be affected?

To maintain proper social distancing on the casino floor, every other slot machine will be turned off to provide adequate spacing. In the table games area, each gaming table will be limited to 3 seated players.

Will you be tightening the machines when you reopen?

Absolutely not. The gaming at Viejas Casino & Resort will remain the same as it was prior to our closure.

Will I be able to complete my Gordon Ramsey Loyalty Gift Collection?

Yes, we will have several opportunities throughout the remainder of May to redeem.  Watch your email and the Viejas app to keep up to date.

Will Bingo be open?

No, Bingo will be re-opening at a later date.

Will Off Track Betting be open?

No, Off Track Betting will be re-opening at a later date.

Will all the restaurants be open?

All Restaurants and Lounges will be open with limited seating and disposable menus.  While the bars will be open, bar top seating will not be available.  There will be no menu limitations and you will be able to enjoy all of your favorites.

I have tickets to a rescheduled show, can I get a refund?

Yes, if you purchased your tickets at the V Store simply bring them to the store for a refund.  If you purchased your tickets online, contact Ticketmaster for a refund.

Will there be entertainment in the Casino, Bars or Restaurants?

No, we will reintegrate these performances when it is safe and responsible to do so.

What does the closure mean for my hotel reservation including third-party reservations?

All reservations made from March 18th through May 18th will be fully refunded.

What changes have you made to hotel cleaning?

Hotel Front Desk Staff

  • Physical distancing for Guests will be queued by clearly marked indicators at each front desk.
  • Agents will only utilize every other workstation to ensure separation between Team Members whenever possible.
  • Pens will not be readily available to guests. The front desk clerk will offer a pen if asked and if the pen is returned, the pens are kept in a sanitized pen container for the foreseeable future.
  • Shared tools, like the card swiper component, screen and stylus will be sanitized before, during, and after each transaction exchange with a guest or fellow employee. This includes phones, radios, computers, printers, copiers, key lockboxes, safety deposit boxes, and key cards.
  • Items left at the front desk for Guest pickup must be secured in a plastic bag for pick up.
 

Pool Operations

  • All pools and spas will be be closed until further evaluations indicate it is safe to open them
 

Fitness Centers

  • The Fitness Centers will be closed until further notice. At future stages, all equipment will be sanitized by custodial per shift, every shift.
 

In-Room Dining

  • Room service will function during the available times as per food and beverage.
  • Food will be ordered, added to the room bill and delivered in a plastic bag by a member of our valet or F&B team members who will observe the six-foot social distancing requirement.
  • The masked and gloved employee will bring the food, set on the ground, knock on the door, step back six feet or more until the guest opens the door to retrieve their meal(s) at which time they are thanked for their patronage and the employee departs. Guests will be asked to leave their rubbish inside of their rooms or to call the hotel front desk to retrieve the rubbish from the guest room.

Will Willows Spa be open?

No, Willows Spa will reopen at a later date when it is determined to be safe.

The Viejas Outlet Center will reopen Saturday, May 23 with Temporary Mall Hours.
