KC and the Sunshine Band – Live at Viejas in the Oak Ballroom.
KC and The Sunshine Band have been making people dance for over 40 years. They gave a voice to a generation, defined a culture, and continue to influence today. Led by Harry Wayne “KC” Casey, the band has maintained cultural relevance through constant renewal, supported by the inclusion of their music in movies, TV shows, and national ads.
Founded in 1973 with the mission to spread joy through music, the group has succeeded spectacularly, topping charts with hits like “That’s the Way (I Like It),” “Get Down Tonight,” and “(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty.” With over 100 million records sold worldwide and numerous accolades, KC was honored in 2013 with two Lifetime Achievement Awards and received a new star on the Palm Springs Walk of Fame, alongside his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
KC and The Sunshine Band continue to tour extensively in the U.S. and abroad, collaborating with other stars. Harry Wayne Casey, born on January 31, 1951, began his career at TK Records in Hialeah, FL. There, he met Henry Stone and signed a contract in 1973, forming KC and The Sunshine Band. This partnership led to the creation of the “Miami sound,” an infectious blend of Caribbean, R&B, and funk music that captivated audiences and filled dance floors.
